Covid-19 PRECAUTIONS
Volunteers and Staff will be provided face coverings, though wearing them will be optional. Face masks for attendees will also be optional. We will ask that participants follow social distancing guidelines in the festival area. Hand Sanitizer will be available on course and in the festival area.
WEATHER
We do not intend to cancel or delay the NATIVE-X Race due to inclement weather. We will let you know on social media if anything changes. Unpredictable weather conditions mean that unexpected race day changes are possible for our event. Please roll with the punches. Generally speaking, we won’t cancel the event for a rainy, wet day. However, lightning, tornadoes, strong winds, and flooding may provide cause for delays or cancellation. Pay attention to our Facebook Page for updates.
VOLUNTEER RACE
The volunteer team will race the obstacle course after the kid’s race. Be flexible, but the tentative race time is 12:00pm for volunteers. When racing, stay on course and with a buddy, as there will not be volunteers on course to help you if needed. Stay hydrated and beware of wild animals.
SAFETY
Stay on course at all times.
Drink water routinely and wear sunscreen. Bring snacks to your stationed area.
Report any safety hazards or participant injuries immediately via phone or radio.
If an obstacle appears to become a safety hazard, immediately shut it down, and tell racers to bypass it. Communicate hazard immediately to race staff.
Do not render first aid, unless certified to do so. Report immediately, and our first aid staff will get there asap.
Beware of wildlife out on the course. The camp is known to have wild pigs, bobcats, panthers, snakes, spiders, etc. Do not approach wildlife if you see any.
Do not demand obstacle completion for any racer. You are welcome to encourage participants, but for safety reason, please make it known that obstacle completion is not required. If a competitive racer chooses not to complete an obstacle, they must turn in their green competitive wrist band to you, meaning they are no longer capable of winning prizes money.
